Since January 2006 Katwijk, Rijnsburg and Valkenburg together a new community with over 60.000 inhabitants. The fusion is booted to strengthen the position of one new community in the vicinity. The name 'Katwijk' is chosen because of the brand awareness. An important principle of the fusion is to keep the own culture, traditions and natures. That is why Katwijk even after the fusion is striving for a development by which one is proud of tradition, but nevertheless is attentive to prolongation.

Sun, sea, beach and the atmosphere are the core values of Katwijk aan Zee. You can also enjoy shopping in shopping centre Zeezijde, with pleasant streets behind the boulevard. A variety of museums and historical sites are also in Katwijk. During the winter you can also do a lot in Katwijk. For example, you can take walks or bike rides through the dunes and taste the culinary offerings. Katwijk refreshes!

Recreation swimming or sporty competitions. Swimming lessons, several aquasports and many other accompanied swimming activities. It is all possible at swimming pool Aquamar in Katwijk. Aquamar not only has a nice subtropical recreation bath with a lot of playful possibilities, it also has a magnificent covered 50-meter competition bath. When the weather is good, you can also swim in the outside swimming pool where the whole family can enjoy the summer safely. Aquamar is open 7 days a week.

Manege Jonker

Riding school in Katwijk, near De Zuidduinen and very close to the beach. Daily there are horse-breaking and jumping lessons by experienced instructors for all ages and all levels: for kids and adults, for freshmen and advanced horse riders. There are beach and dune tours frequently.

Archeon

The Living Past of the Netherlands. In Archeon there are 43 buildings rebuild from archaeological findings in and around the Netherlands. The buildings are inhabited by the so-called Archeo-translators. These people dress like our ancestors and a small chat or one of our numerous activities with them will bring history closer than you have ever imagined.

Corpus

Something unique has grown in the Netherlands: a world's first: a spectacular experience around the human body. Corpus is a 'journey through the human body' during which the visitor can see, feel and hear how the human body works and what roles healthy food, healthy life and plenty of exercise plays. Corpus offers a variety of information and provides education and entertainment with this journey as well as a vast number of permanent and variable exhibitions.

Katwijks Museum

In the Katwijk Museum memories of the coastal town's past are vividly portrayed in paintings, photographs, costumes, ornaments, model ships, fishery artefacts, several period rooms, a reconstructed ship's bridge and the interiors of a drapery shop, a sail maker's and a coopery. Temporary displays, where work of contemporary artists may be admired, are held on a regular basis.

Green Key

The Green Key is a diploma awarded companies within tourism: hotels, youth hostels, conference- and holiday centres, campsites, holiday houses, leisure facilities and restaurants. To obtain the Green Key the company has to fulfil a list with numerous environmental requirements. These requirements are contained in a number of criteria. Besides pure environmental demands (for example to control the production of waste and the use of water, electricity, etc.), the criteria include demands on policy, action plans, education and communication. Obtaining The Green Key shows the sense of responsibility a organisation has for its surroundings and society.

Trade organisation for the Dutch recreation sector.

ANWB

The royal Dutch tourist association ANWB is an association which looks after the interests of its members with an unique mix of influencing and service activities in the field of mobility, holiday and leisure. At that work the ANWB also wants to provide contribution to a sustainable development of society. Recreatiecentrum De Zuidduinen is mentioned in the ANWB camping guide.

Recreatiecentrum Delftse Hout

You love the freedom of nature, but occasionally you would like to exchange it for the variety of a lively city? One moment you would like to cycle or walk through a peaceful and quiet environment, and on other moments you would like to visit one of the cultural attractions in the historical centre of Delft or go shopping in The Hague, Rotterdam or Amsterdam. Come and visit Recreatiecentrum Delftse Hout, a 4-star camping- and caravanning park on the eastside of Delft.

As of 2010 Recreatiecentrum Delftse Hout is owned by the park manager and his family. The partnership with the 3 other Koningshof sites will be maintained.

Huys te Britten

Huys te Britten is a multi-functional complex in Katwijk aan Zee: at the edge of the dunes, yet right in the Randstad. Huys te Britten offers various packages to the private and corporate market. Conferences, symposia, meetings, training, courses, dinners, weddings, receptions, parties... the possibilities are endless!

Huys te Britten is also the Food & Beverage complex of Recreatiecentrum De Noordduinen. Guests of De Noordduinen can swim in the Huys te Britten swimming pool, eat fries at snack bar Big Snack or have a delicious à la carte dinner in Restaurant Catwyck. Also for bingo and kids activities guests of De Noordduinen can visit Huys te Britten.

Recreatiecentrum Koningshof

Recreatiecentrum De Noordduinen

Recreatiecentrum De Noordduinen offers you everything you need for a richly varied holiday. The name already gives the location away - this campsite is in the dunes north of Katwijk aan Zee, only 300 metres from the beach! The stretch of dunes between Katwijk and Noordwijk is a beautiful area, ideal for nature lovers and anyone in search of peace and quiet. It is a place where you can walk, cycle, picnic and jog undisturbed. The sheltered location in the dunes between luscious greenery gives the campsite a pleasant, relaxed feeling. There's also the North Sea which has the broadest sandy beaches in the Netherlands, just at your doorstep!
